Well we got our first real snow for this season!! When I got up at 5am it was raining and by 6am we had a inch of really wet heavy snow. Today I Planned to go and see Kathy in Rochester but with this snow the roads are not very good so I stayed home and cleaned out my tatting corner, I have 136 tatting shuttles in my corner! I have straightened it all out so maybe I will get some tatting done this afternoon.

Well i have been working on snowflakes for some time now i want to do a tree next year in all white snowflakes. So far i have been doing them from 24 snowflakes in tatting by Lene Bjorn. I have day 2,3,4,5,10,18,19,and 20. I will work on getting scans of them all here is a scan of day 2

Sorry I have no pictures but I have been tatting on a project for Hector, it is a Nina Libin pattern, I have made a few of them and now I an working on the finishing of them but I cant show them until later. I have been tatting still i am working on Christmas ornaments again i am trying to design more i have seven new ones so far so maybe i will have another book out in the spring . I will post pictures after i get back this weekend i am off to Canada for the fringe element tatting weekend. I cant wait to see all my great tatting friends there.

But i have been to the New York state fair 5 times so far i took my grandson twice and it was so much fun. He thinks all of the animals are his and should come home with us. Here is a few pictures of him at the fair.

The big doily only got Honorable mention!

This spider got a blue bribbon for first place in original design Section.

Here are two motifs of Karey Solomon it it from her Tatting Y2K calendar, It is a bag pattern but i have only done one side so far and then i started the other side and had the idea of doing it with beads instead of chains and i think it turned out OK. This is motif 3 and 4.

Yes this row seems to be taking a very long time!! It is over halfway done and i do hope to get it done soon. I know it should of been done a few days ago but family does get in the way at times. But i have spent some good times with my daughter so it is worth taking a little longer to get it done.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments they sure do keep me going on the big doily. As for some answers the pattern came from a book i borrowed from Karey when i made the first big doily,

in 2005 but she has moved and cant find the book, i was so happy when i found the scan of the pattern so i can make it again. The finished doily is 24 inches across in size 30thread. I hope i have answered all the questions you have, if not i will try to answer them.

This is done with a shuttle but i had to unwind the shuttle and pass it through the rings needed then rewind the shuttle to tat the ring. It is a bit fiddley but i think it is worth it.

And i have worked on this little bit all day today trying to figure out how to do it, I am not sure if it is right yet but i sure do like the way it looks. What do you think???

Well I got home from the Fringe Elements tatting days in Canada. It was lots of fun and enjoy visiting with friends there. I hope to go again next year. Here are a few pictures I took there and a one of the Falls on the way home.

But I have been busy with my youngest daughters wedding which was yesterday. I got the doily to a point it could be done now I will finish it actually. I made the centerpieces and cooked for the rehearsal dinner and alter all the girls dresses some the day before the wedding. This year I have now finished two projects from Hector Tat Days!!! I think I should only take two classes from now on because I have finished both of them. I usually only get one done if that I start them all with good intentions but then I get distracted. The top right is Angelina taught by Kaye Judt. The center is Shirley Angel that i taught. Then the bottom center is the Imp taught by Vicki Clarke. They are sewn on the Angel Landing Pad, Karey put in the teacher bags

Well it has started!!!! We met at the firehouse last night for a dish to pass and lots of fun just talking and catching up with our tatting friends. Now I am getting ready for a nice long day with friends tatting and chatting.

My Book will be ready in time for Hector!!! The Name is The 12 Ornaments of Christmas. They range from simple to challenging, so there is some for all to make. And i hope to have another book out by Christmas of more ornaments.
