New Idea

OK i seen a wonderful bookmark on a German site http://mitglied.multimania.de/fodografinshp/Anleitungen/Lesezeichen-GreenKnots.pdf and i fell in love with it. And i have worked on this little bit all day today trying to figure out how to do it, I am not sure if it is right yet but i sure do like the way it looks. What do you think???

That's it. I've made it and it's gorgeous. Are you a needle or shuttle tatter? If you're a shuttle tatter, I think you might not like making it. The only way to get the celtic portion was to unwind the thread from the shuttle, slip it through then rewind. I don't needle tat but if I understand it correctly, you wouldn't have to do that.

I was looking at that too. I think it's as Michelle says, easier for needle-tatters. Almost everything I've seen like this requires you to take the thread off the shuttle or wind it on something narrow enough to fit through. I don't think the "celtic" shuttles will even fit in that, even though that's why they are long and narrow. OR...and I haven't thought this out, but you could put the shuttle through for the next ring (a split ring) before closing the last one. Since they are all interlocked, you might have to leave them all partically open and that could be a LOT of shuttles!

WTG, Ginny. Is this for your next class? I can wait to stalk your progress.
